Shouldn't the converter unlock whenever the brake is tapped? If so, what would cause the converter to not unlock until i get to lower speeds? I am also having an issue when I start off from a stop it feels like something is slipping then it catches as soon as I apply more than about 10% throttle. It has the same feeling as if the tire was spinning then gets traction all of a sudden. At first I thought the converter was locking almost instantly but its not. Has anyone had a similar experience with this. Also, the O/D off button on the shifter does not work.

Don't know a whole lot, but a good starting point would be to check the line pressure somehow. Mine kinda did the same thing when it started having problems, and it was because the pump started going out.

Bump.
I think I figured out the "bump" on take off and got the gear selector replaced. The wires were completely cut. Now I just need to know why my torque converter won't unlock when the brake is tapped. It operates normally all other times.
