Thanks BTS, awesome tranny

Been on here a while but never posted anything until now. First time PSD owner in early April. '99 F-350 crew cab 4X4 SRW long bed, with only 84K miles on it. Only drove it 3K miles and the tranny puked. When I serviced it, changed all fluids with Amsoil, I was a bit retarded and didnt really put 2 and 2 together that when I found lots of fines in the tranny pan, that was just about all my clutches, lol. I couldnt even find where the magnet was at. Anyway, I was scared to death to let any idiot mechanic touch any of my vehicles. I do all the work on my cars. So, I got on here and researched as much as I could for info on a tranny. Called JW and couldnt get anyone to answer then I called Brians Truck Shop, got some info and bit the bullet and bought one. Said it would be a month though before I could get one. I told them my situation and really needed my truck since I run a welding shop on the side. Tina called me back the next day and said they had an opening a bit sooner. I asked when and she said he would build one for me today. WOW, I was floored. I couldnt ask for better customer service. Took me a couple days to get the old one out and new one in. First time I changed a tranny that big and 4X4 for that matter. I could probably do it in 1 day now i know what im doing. Long story short, I couldnt be happier, especially with a lifetime warranty. Thanks again Brian, Patti, and Tina at BTS, could not ask for any nicer people to deal with. Dont let the price tag make you nervous because he sends a new TQ converter with it. Which some cost up to $1500.00. Also had the chance to talk to Brian quite a bit and he said anytime I want to up the HP, just give him a call and he will walk me through and reprogramming the shift points, oversizing the valve body ports, etc.

The fun has started for me, now all I want is more power

It was $4400 for the tranns. They add a $1000 core until you send you rebuildable back to them. You can arrange your own shipping if you want, I did and used freightquote.com and saved $250.00. But usually they handle the shipping both ways. They also add in a their own custom built TQ converter too. I know ATS wants around $1500.00 just for a TC. So I thought Brian really has a pretty good deal, especially for having a lifetime warranty. You really cant beat that.

Yeh BTS is great and if you ever blow it you will get another one at your doorstep.

And never use ATS I seen you mentioned them. They have customer service problems. Brian never does.

hucorey,

just curious, how do you know how awesome it is? You just installed it. Have you done anything with your truck yet like haul or tow something? Just wondering.

I think at this moment he is amazed at the customer service he recieved. He didn't say the trans itself was awesome, but I'm sure he will soon find that out.

It's not actually a lifetime warranty. Brian just takes damn good care of his customers.

If you do something stupid to it after his two year warranty runs out you're on your own. If it broke on it's own, he sends you a new one as soon as he know's you need it.

The next day I pulled 8T of dirt in my 6200lb dump trailer. I love the trans. When I got to my dads house with the dirt I had to go uphill about a 8-10% incline on grass and all I didnt hardly have to give it any throttle and the tires never slipped.
