Which ATSG Manual Do I Need For The 4R100??
I was doing an eBay search for the 4R100 ATSG manual and I came across a couple different versions. One says that it is a service manual shown in this link:
4R100 FORD, ATSG TECHNICAL SERVICE MANUAL, (M-36400EA): eBay Motors (item 350368228359 end time Jun-23-10 23:26:13 PDT) Another one I looked at says it is an "Updated Handbook" shown in this link: 4R100 ATSG Transmission Update Service Manual handbook: eBay Motors (item 360248973221 end time Jun-30-10 07:30:31 PDT) Do I basically need/want both of these, or only just one is good? If so, which one? |

Anybody know on this? Do I just need to order both of these manuals?

check out my thread noob transmission rebuild
I did not buy the supplemental book, it might have helped, but I honestly think it would have been more confusing trying to look in two books at the same time while rebuilding a transmission... Kinda like juggling, and breathing fire while masturbating a bull elephant... ![]() Good luck, and don't be scared of that transmission. It's not bad at all... READ MY THREAD, it'll save you some headaches. |

It really wasn't that bad. As long as you have a good place to do it at, you'll be fine. Just in case you don't know, start soaking your clutches in transmission fluid. Cheap stuff is fine, if you put them in there without soaking them, they will stick together.
