PLEASE HELP w/ Transmission

Hello guys! I have a 2000 f-250 with 148,000 miles and was pulling a camper yesterday that weighs around 7,000lbs. It seemed like when I would come to a hill it was losing alot of power and got a loud noise that sounded like a fan coming on. When I got to the house I leaned under the truck and could hear my trans boiling. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. First thing I thought was the t/c going bad. Because the truck seems like it has started shifting hard from first to second

Do you have gauges? Have you checked your fluid to see if it's burnt?

Well if your trans did get that hot then it can cause all kinds of weird problems. But because you don't have gauges there is no way to tell how hot it got. I would get gauges and at least change the pan fluid to be safe.

You could smell the fluid to see if it smells burnt.
