How do you adjust the pointer on the dash for the transmission gear. If I have it in drive the red indicator on the dash reads its in 2nd. How to move it back over? 2001 f250 xlt, 200,000 miles

crawl under your truck on the drivers side of the trans you will see your shift cable run into the trans. at the junction is a slide connector that you will need to undo and place selector in park and reset the connector in that position. very simple but dont break black clip that holds onto white adjustment bar.
