Trans temp gauge question

This is probably pretty simple for you tranny guys, but please excuse my ignorance. I'm about to put in a Tru Cool trans cooler for my 2000 psd, since i'll be towing a 10k 5er. I found an old "BW" trans temp gauge i pulled out of car I sold. I think I was lazy and left the sensor in the car when i sold it, so I just have the gauge, with a couple tabs in the back to attach electrical connections.

My question: Can I just get a sensor and wire it up to this gauge, or do I need to buy a new gauge? I'll be getting a full set of gauges soon (thinking about the glowshift 3 in one), but don't have the cash right now.

Whaddaya think?

I don't think you can buy the sensor by itself.
