trans starting to go?

ok so eversince i got the truck the TC has made a terrible rattling noise and had numerous mechanics say it need to be replaced asap but i couldnt afford it so i kept driving it, a couple weeks ago the od light flashed for a few secs and then went away.

its been shifting weird lately too

under little throttle it shifts hard through 1st 2nd and 3rd then wont go into 4th/od without letting out of the throttle completly

under WOT it shifts pretty good other than it going up to 2800-3000 rpms before shifting. but shifts are nice and solid but not to hard.

so today i towed a 2k lb trailer wich should be nothing for this truck. It would make a real hard vibration under acceleration when the TC was locked up and i could not get it to shift into 3rd, it was shifting real hard too, i checked the fluid and its now pinkish-brown it was nice and red a couple weeks ago

do trannies go this quick whats the deal i need this truck and seeing as its getting to be summertime its going to run hotter and possibly go out completely

Sorry to bring this back up but was the noise you were hearing the TC or the flexplate. Im hearing a noise from that area.

yea its already gone. ive been thru 2 of these. save your money and put a zf6 manual trans in it. its not hard and you will benefit in the long run.

It was my tc. I replaced it and then the trans went soon after that. Sooo...
Got a BTS and actually got done installing that two weeks ago. Much better than stock but the stock tc lockup strategy isn't great so I will be getting tunes and hopefully that fixes it completely

Yup! And for anyone else that's looking at getting a bts trans Cary was great to deal with and was easier and faster to communicate with than Brian himself.
