Not sure what to think......
Ok, Its only been about 3500 miles now since I had the new hd torque conv installed in the truck. Tranny was not slipping when I had it installed it was making a banging type noice when shifting.
Work Was done at my local 4x4 specalized transmission shop who is a mom and pop and has a great rep for quality work. I put the DP tuner in shortly after the tc went in and today I noticed (only while driving in the stock tune trying to compare fuel economy between programs) that when the tranny does its last shift afrer taking off from a stop that the rpm's will jump a little before it actualy shifts, so the rpms go up then down after the shift. Is this anything to do with the tc? The truck has 153,000 on it and all they did was the TC said everything else was fine. Any ideas? While on the tranny topic, with the tuning on my DP (all settings) I get the tranny downshifting when the speed drops to about 45 or so, it drops a gear and the rpm's go up.......EVERY time it gets to 45, is this hurting the tranny? Thanks guys! |

If the tc has locked up in 3rd , the computerwill pulse the converter off on the 3-4 upshift. Most vehicles it's not noiticeble but once in a while it happens. Will not hurt anything.

Are you refering to the slight jumping of the rpm's when it does the 3-4 upshift?
Thanks!!! |
