temporary trans cooler bypass

I have found a leak on one of the fittings on my trans cooler, I can't get a new one tonight. Can I put a fitting in line to complete the cooler circuit. until I can get a new 6.0 cooler. I only will be commuting for work about 20 mi. each way or will I overheat the transmission.

Well I decided to leave the truck in the drive way, I ended up finding a V 10 cooler at a local steel u r sh:t. I shouldn't complain the ran it thru my friend's business account to give me a break (saved $ 70). Thanks to Mark K. for answering my PM so quickly made my decision to not take the chance on cookin the trans.
