tranny and fluid

Well I pulled the ZF-6 out today and dropped it off at the tranny shop for them to open up and rebuild..

Does anyone know what fluid is recommended in the zf and does anyone know how many quarts the ZF-6 holds?

I cant wait till they get it done I have to drive a 99 Dodge Ram van around until the tranny is ready and I can reinstall it

Thanks

well the tranny shop called I pick up the tranny at 8 tomorrow morning, had to replace 6th gear syncro and some ring for 1st and reverse I believe he said .. he couldn't believe the tranny has 165k on it said everything inside looked like a 25k mile tranny .. there are no signs of why the syncro went everything else inside is perfect including bearings ..

anyway with any luck ill have it back up and running tomorrow before lunch I asked about fluid these trannys use Mercon .. he didn't have a opinion on regular mercon or synthetic .. Im goin to have to do a bit of reading tonight to figure out what would work better
