'97 to '99 transmission
Can anyone tell me if a e40d/4r100 out of a 1997 f350 powerstroke diesel 4x4, would be the same as my 4r100 in my 1999 f350 superduty powerstroke diesel, mine burned up and a buddy of mine has a reman from his 1997 he will give me for free if it will work- thanx john

mostly the same. but differnt programing. so no it will not work.

everything will bolt up but the harness and programming are different between the two different trans

I think it would actually work. Plug the tss and oss holes in the top, plus change solenoids (from the pwm to earlier version) and range sensor.
