need help narrowing down problem
ok guys.
i dont know if the tranny was ever replaced, but i know for a fact, from launch to OD... i can count through 5 gears, and its an automatic i have a 3" lift in rear with carrier bracket bearing, but i feel like the driveshaft or tranny is tugging... i know for a fact that when i go uphill, and turning i can feel the rear grabbing... when on highway going 60-65 mph... in OD.... if you press down on the petal hard but not hard enough to downshift, you feel a big tugging. also the service engine light comes on, then turns off a couple mins later. |

It's a 4r100,, 4 spd with lockup torque converter. Makes it feel like a 5 spd.
I'm not sure I understand, "tugging"??? |

ok thanks... does that come stock in a truck?
it feels like a tugging or grabbing... when on highway pushing OD gear, you feel the truck jerking a little bit.... its not very noticeable but i feel it. its hard to explain |

That trans is stock for that year.
It's very difficult to tell the differeance between tcc chatter and bad injectors. |

i find that when there is a hill, and front wheels are turning full lock... from a stand still, just crawling you can feel the rear wheels grabbing....
it feels like when you put truck in 4x4 on pavement... the wheels grab... but its not as bad. i dont know if its tranny or something else.. i did just adjust the carrier bearing bracket spacers... they were not set right |
