Trans rebuild time need advice/opinions

I have a friend going to rebuild my trans in an 02 7.3. He knows what he is doing but just want your guys opinion on the build. What torque convertor to use, for a tuner and mild towing. What internals to use like kevlar and Transgo shift kit, valve body, etc. Thanks guys. Do I need the shift kit and valve body?

If he know what he is doing, let him advise. You are getting a warranty, aren't you????

Trans rebuild

I also have an '02 7.3 with the 4R100 auto. On the advice of other members here, I checked with BTS transmission, as I was planning to simply buy a new one. I told the rep what i had and what my future plans were (500 RWHP in a daily driver, some 1/4 mile runs, and a couple sled pulls just for fun). He advised me against buying a new one, and said to simply upgrade mine with a Billet torque converter (He suggested ATS five star), a valve body upgrade kit, and a shift kit. If I'm ever able to save the money, I'm going to buy one of their transmissions just for the warranty and the fact that they actually turned away business and told me I didn't need to spend the 4 grand on one of theirs

Thats pretty much what i had read. Just wanted some members advice since they actually own one, instead of someone building the trans that actually never drove one built w/ their assumptions. Thanks.
