what truck is it on?
and its just a solenoid i believe that turns it on and off, hitting the break peddle while going down the road depending on what gear your in would unlock it, but you could find the solenoid thats for it and ground it out should unlock it I believe but i could be wrong, ill do some looking around. What are you doing it for? |

I have an F350 that has the TC locked up in frwd gears but not reverse. I've just changed the solenoid pack. I want to be able to unlock the TC so I can see if it's electrical or mechanical. The previuos owner said this truck did the same thing 3 years ago, and he said it was an electrical problem. I'm trying to electrically force it to unlock. I know it's been done, I'm trying to find out how! |

Triumph. the tc cannot be electricaly unlocked. The computer gronds the solenoid at the assighned time, "turns it on" and then removes volts to the solenoid when it needs to. Your problem is not electrical. The solenoid simply rerouts fluid to the lockup valve which moves and directs fluid to the lockup clutch.
The most probable cause is a warped pump. Crossleaks in the pump leak over into the tc on passage any time a fwd gear is selected. |

I just hate it when someone else has been screwing around with the vehicle before. Glad you found it. I wonder if that would have shown up on a Snap On scanner.???
