How much ATF in the 4R100?

Don't have a problem but I did a transmission service on my dad's buick century with the 3.1L and was totally surprised at the amount of fluid in that transmission! 7.3qts it calls for! Can't imagine how much is in the one on the truck. Anybody know?

More then that and most transmissions use on average 8 quarts of fluid. That is not even counting the 2 or more quarts in the torque converter.

I believe our trucks for a drain/refill is 15 quarts or somewhere in that area. But if you add the torque converter that is another 2 or 3.
