Torque converter?

How do you tell if its locking in? Also is there a right up for a manual switch? I've searched but cant find anything i'd like to see if thats my overheating problem before taking it to the shop

well for my 97 it acts like an extra gear. once its in od and drivn around 40mph its idling real low like 1250 rpms and when you accelerate, you hear the injectors tryin to work harder to speed up

You can tell when it locks. You have a lot more power to the ground.

But here is a diagram for the TC lockup switch that I use.
