Time to beef the trans

I've got a 1999 f250 psd 4x4 that i need to do some trans work on.
It drives great forward but not so much in reverse. I am planning on dropping out the trans, throwing in some new stuff to get my reverse back and also adding a little beef while im on there. I plan on doing a bts in the future but cant afford it right now. The question is what should i do while im in there to get a little more life out of it? I do have a DP-tuner so it has some trans tuning in it but it just aint enough.

Get a BTS VB and a 6.0 tq set up for a 7.3.
