you will need a chip to lock up in 3rd and 4th i believe. The only one that i put a kit in that i drove afterwards had a chip in it. The only reason i drove it was to see what mine would be like.

with my programmer out for over a month(sent back for upgrades) it would still lock-up fine

Now you are running the tugger kit, how about this kit? Ford Lincoln Mercury Shift Kits This is the one the trans guy was talking about. Its the shift kit, not the tugger reprogram. I guess they are diffrent.

So the tugger kit does lock up? I was unsure as i wasnt able to drive the 2 that didnt have chips in them.

Yeah the tugger kit requires the removal of the trans, where as the other kit doesn't. Until i HAVE to remove my trans i want to just do the bolt on kit for now.

I will call my trans guy in the morning..not sure about that one.I will let you know what I find out.I am not sure of the cost diff between the two,I know I love the way mine shifts.

O yeah..it is weird.I swear it feels like it locks up harder without the tunes in it

The cost diff is about 70 bucks. The only major diff is like i said i think the tugger requires the removal of the trans. I know the trans guy said that the one he installs while the trans is still in the truck has had great reviews.
