Hanging in low, eratic shifting

I have a 99 with 200,000 mls on it. I was having the same problem but it seems to get worse as it heats up. We ran all electronic and manual shift tests, Pressure tests and taste tests we could. This showed some slippage and apparent wear on the unit.I figured I would go ahead and have the tranny overhauled. New converter all new seals, frictions and sensors. I even replaced the speed and cam sensors for good measure. After a complete go thru we found a broken acumulator spring a few burnt discs and overdrive piston and even a little dirt internally. It was finished early this morning. We hooked up the scan tool and went out for the road test. All pressure, shift and temp reading went right where the should be. However the drivability problems, eratic shifting and hanging in Low are exactly the same. Some shifts are even more agresive due to the fact that there isn't any slip now.If I run it wide open the red line it will shift. I am now leaning towards a bad program from my Superchips programer or a faulty pcu. I will be flashing the computer on monday. I will post my results. Any other input would be greatly appreciated........................ equally frustrated PaulyP

Same problem.

I have the same problem, but it does not matter if engine is hot or cold. It happened even before any mods. Truck only has 55k miles, 2001 7.3L Auto-Trans. I have noticed that other people have wrote similar threads, but no one has giving a fix answer!! I can not believe that? Would like to know the fix.

When it does finally shift does it slam hard into gear? That is what mine did when the 1 way clutch failed.

Hey for what it's worth you may wanna go get a bottle of Lucas Transmission Fix, it's good stuff. Drain the pan only, add the Lucas and then top off. I've put that stuff in some flat-out WORN trannies and it brings them back to usable life again. However from the sounds of it you may have a mechanical issue going on.
