No I'm not bashing you and I understand your reasoning. Just 2k is alot of money savings for the same thing torque converter and cooler. Not sure about the mag hytech though.

I have bought a lot of suncoast trannies, many allisons though and they are pieces of art. I have bought 1 5r100 and it was pretty good just pricy. I install Suncoast allisons with converter tow package and cooler kit, and Amsoil fluid for5500.00 and they have to ship it to AZ

where do you guys think i should get a trans cooler and external filter kit from?
what the best cooler, one from a V-10 or after market , if i use an external filter can i still run my old cooler along with the new one? or just bypass the radiator and stock cooler and run only the new one

if your getting a new tranny I would get rid of the stock cooler because of possible contamination.

Check out your friends at suncoast for a cooler and filter kit. They have a nice setup.....TCI also has a very nice cooler

Ok so while you guys are on the subject of transmissions. What do you think is the best option as of torque converter? Of course ATS is going to be the first answer. But I'm not looking to drag race with it, i'm not looking to make any more power other than my ts chip. I tow a 34 foot enclosed race trailer, and was looking for your opinions. Has anyone used TCI diesel coverters? I saw in the new ATI catalog that they are making diesel converters too!

I can't say much about the TCI convertor but I like the ATS convertor that I have, make sure you upgrade your input shaft also. I didn't and wish I would have, it broke with just over 10,000 miles on the trans.

When you upgrade the hp on diesels, you can get a tighter,(lower stall) convertor to make use of the additional torque that you are making. You'll be supruised what a different T/C can do.
