I would say that whatever you do, put a good converter in it. I have an ATS trans/converter/ billet input shaft in my Dodge. It was expensive but it will handle everything I can throw at it.

Also, make sure to put a larger oil pan on it, heat is what kills an auto trannie.

You are only 200 miles from Lead Hill, AR. That would be my only stop if I were you. I am having him change my fluid in mine this next week while we are there camped out on the lake.

yeah North point sucks, they are telling my dad that their 2003 navigator with 105k miles on it now has a bad Head, after we just spent over 1k for them to change plugs and some other stuff because it was missing. Then the year we bought the dually and the navigator, we had some steering problems with the truck, and the owner, i think his name is Jim, was a real jerk to my dad, saying there was nothing wrong with the truck and stuff like that. it really made him mad, especially since he had spend a little over 100k with them in 1 year. United Ford North is who we use to get the dually worked on. They replaced the a new head, new gaskets and a new injector last july, took them 1 week, dropped it off on a monday, went in tuesday, truck was all torn apart and 1 head was already back on it. Picked up the truck on Friday. The Service guy's name is Steve Miller i believe. They didnt mind the exhaust, gauges, or airraid drop in filter.

I don't know what your time frame is but that sounds right to me. If you can hold off until he can get you in, he's the best.

4 weeks shows how good he really is

First off let me say that I have NO experience with BTS and some of this is just speculation, but I think Suncoast and BTS are about the same price and quality, it just boils down to preference and location. I just had my transmission redone by Suncoast (they are local to me) I spent just under $6000 installed. I told them I wanted the last transmission I would ever put in this truck and was willing to spend the money to make that happen. I told them what I do with it and any planned mods. I got almost every upgrade.....Triple disc converter, upgraded clutch packs, upgraded center bearing support, billet input shaft, Mag-hytec deep pan, bigger trans cooler, etc. I am so far very happy with the product and service. (Only been about a month since it was done) Tows great, SO much less slipping in the torque converter, firm shifts etc. Oh yeah! Even gained a few MPG around town. I was told 2 year unlimited miles warranty.

When I was searching for how I wanted to go about repairing my trans. it came down to BTS and Suncoast for me (I HATE automatics since I always seem to tear them up, all of my manuals have lasted 200k+) Both seemed to do the same upgrades as far as I could tell and price was very similar. Suncoast just happened to be ALOT closer. I think you would be very happy with either place if I were to guess. Just my $.02.

No doubt suncoast is good but you paid 6k for a tranny and Brians have the same warranty and cost 4k.

I would do a 2k turbo upgrade with my saved money

Understood if this is truly the case, however I thought it BTS wanted just under $4k for JUST the transmission, I got a few non standard upgrades, a new tq converter and cooler installed for $6k. Maybe I could have done better, but I trust their work and they were local.

In either event I never intended to bash anyone, infact just the opposite. My intention was to re-affirm that BTS and Suncoast are arguably some of the best in the nation for what they do. I just have to personal experience with BTS, so I could only speak personally for Suncoast. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.
