od light flashing means fault mode. computer has seen something wrong.
Hard shifts are caused by computer comanding high line pressure to keep from burning trans up. Get codes. Preston

Mine does this intermittently also. I never have any DTC codes with my scanner when this happens. Is this code something that I should take to a dealership to have read?

Some scanners can not read all codes. Most professional trans shops have 2 or even 3 different kind of scanners. One of them will get the codes if they are there.
Sometimes, hard shifts are caused by sticking accumulator valves and will not set codes.
