why 4? I do alot of towing, but I didnt start towing regularly until about 140K. Before that i went through 2 Transmissions. Since I started towing with it regularly Ive gone through one Factory trans and one BTS.
Brians Truck Shop

The BTS did break from what I dont know yet, but it never broke down and left me stranded. His warranty is the best out there, im in the process of using it right now.

Good luck

I don't understand that at all! I have done almost 100k & I pull big boats, My 5th wheeler & a car trailer 99% of my driving is towing. I'll have a look at that site now. I put an extra 1ltr of atf the other day & it seems a bit better unless I'm dreaming, not sure yet.

I just had a look on that site, but I'm not sure how to find the trans I need. Which one do you have & how much was it?

you cant just order it from the website, you actually talk to the builder. Brian Thompson. Call the number on the site and he will talk directly to ya and give you price for what you are looking for.

870-422-FORD

Im amazed yours lasted for 100K, especially since you tow alot. I have seen a few trucks like yours that lasted with the factory trans, but they didnt do alot of towing.

BTS makes only one trans, super heavy duty using the parts that they describe on their website.

I got a 6.0 cooler trans/torque converter, I walked out the door for a shade over 5K. Thats less than half of what I have spent on factory or "ford heavy duty" 4R100's.

Good luck and if you call Brian at BTS, tell him Clay Majors from Nebraska reccomended ya.

your lookin at 3000-3500 for a factory reman. 1500-2000 more for the insurance it will NEVER break, and if it does its gotta warranty with no questions asked.

I do know its alot of money but worth every penny compared to however many factory trans you will go through at the price i mentioned above.
