TERRIBLE MPG's
I'm not sure if this the best place to post this one, but here goes...
I have an 02 excursion that only gets about 10 to 11 mpg. I had heard that a power chip can sometimes improve mileage, as well as intake and exhaust. Obviously I started with the chip, because who doesn't want more horsepower? I went with the Edge Evolution and have loved it. Fuel mileage is the same, however. Got around to installing a cold air intake this weekend and I hope it'll improve a little, but shouldn't I be getting more like 13 to 16 mpg out of the stock motor? Any ideas as to why my truck is SO thirsty? Oh, I almost forgot, I replaced the fuel filter about six months after the chip, also with no change in mpg. Thanks |

are you still running a stock exhaust? if so I can make you a great deal on one.... as for an excursion ONLY getting 16 mpg's, have you looked at the weight of your rig? first off, get rid of the edge and get an SCT with some custom tunes... you will see a lot more performance and it will be safer for your rig... and keep your foot out of it... the more performance you have the better the economy is, if you can keep your foot off the right pedal

I average 14 mpg local driving as long as I maintain a lite foot.
