mine did the same thing now a crank no start just did the recall to correct it didnot work the transfer pump is really noisy I wonder if it is pressurizing, what should a healthy pump put out at cold start?I need to find where the fuel is, ill try to run it out of a jerry can if the transfer pressure isnt over 50lbs.no lights on either.Ill say 1 thing, this is the only thing the truck has had done at the dealer, its been the most reliable truck.

Well it did it again, stalled at idle and would not restart, left it at the friends house and will try to start in the morning, have replaced the cps twice, and the ICP sensor, To refresh it will die at idle or coasting no warning lights, or indication that it was going to die. 2002 PSD excursion. Pulled the small allen plug on top of the hpop and there is plenty of oil in it, a mechanic told me that if there was no oil in it it could be the low pressure oil pump. Time to send it to the dealer, almost ready to start hating this truck. Snowman

Possible fix for this

So, let me get this straight. If you see an oil leak in the vicinity of the IPR, it could be bad. Mine is doing the same thing, except it is more likely when it is cold. It will "miss" pretty badly then die. Also it dies random and starts back up just fine. When it does miss, it will be difficult to start back up. Took it to the dealer yesterday and had them do the Cam position sensor recall (in hopes that was it). Nope. In addition, I had someone hook up jumper cables backwards(!) on my truck about 4 months ago. It has run fine since then, until this week. Any thoughts? |

so here's my crazy input.....my ICP sensor had a LITTLE bit of oil on it WAY BEFORE I READ THIS THREAD....and while Im deployed my father in law installed a HPOX and now the truck is stalling and dying all the time...and last night was the last it died and won't restart....thinking it's either the CPS, MAP, IPR OR ICP......what do you think? it would rev to about 3k and die, there were a few times that the wife would put it into gear and the truck wouldn't do anything at all.......please help my wife is annoying me about it and Im in Asia......HELP ME!!!!
Thanks,, Chad |
