ICP = Device that reads the oil pressure in the rail (located on the driver's side eninge block). I think its Injection Control Pressure Sensor.

IPR - Injection Pressure Regulator - attached to your HPOP (high pressure oil pump) that builds or releases pressure are requested by the truck.

mine did the same thing now a crank no start just did the recall to correct it didnot work the transfer pump is really noisy I wonder if it is pressurizing, what should a healthy pump put out at cold start?I need to find where the fuel is, ill try to run it out of a jerry can if the transfer pressure isnt over 50lbs.no lights on either.Ill say 1 thing, this is the only thing the truck has had done at the dealer, its been the most reliable truck.

Well it did it again, stalled at idle and would not restart, left it at the friends house and will try to start in the morning, have replaced the cps twice, and the ICP sensor, To refresh it will die at idle or coasting no warning lights, or indication that it was going to die. 2002 PSD excursion. Pulled the small allen plug on top of the hpop and there is plenty of oil in it, a mechanic told me that if there was no oil in it it could be the low pressure oil pump. Time to send it to the dealer, almost ready to start hating this truck. Snowman

1k for an IPR OMG.

Snowman IPR I have seen it multiple times.IPR causes all kinds of hard start/Stalling issues that are almost all ways mis diagnosed.

Excursions are even more difficult cause the computers are slightly different than all the other 7.3's

So, let me get this straight. If you see an oil leak in the vicinity of the IPR, it could be bad. Mine is doing the same thing, except it is more likely when it is cold. It will "miss" pretty badly then die. Also it dies random and starts back up just fine. When it does miss, it will be difficult to start back up. Took it to the dealer yesterday and had them do the Cam position sensor recall (in hopes that was it). Nope.

In addition, I had someone hook up jumper cables backwards(!) on my truck about 4 months ago. It has run fine since then, until this week. Any thoughts?

Thanks,,

Chad
