Electrical? Hard to say at this point, but it's a good guess. You really need to get your hands on a GOOD scanner or AE.

Hearing these issues makes me want to get a scanner that can read and do those things for my truck. What is a good scanner that you guys use?

you can pick up a mt2500 with the cartridges and a k-2 or k-2a personality key for under 300. That will work for most all 7.3's.

You'll need the newer cartridges and the can-bus setup for the 6.0's. Add another 200-600 for that.

The other units get a bit pricey.

"under 300" That's not bad, why they all don't use the same software really sucks though.

Snowman,

I have the exact same issue as you do. My 7.3 died while driving and thought it was the CPS. I keep a spare in the glove box so I replaced it about an hour later, did not want to burn the hands. It started right up and I was like wow glad I keep a spare. So I buy another one and throw in the glove box. 3 days later the same thing happens. Just dies not sputter, choke or whatever just as if you turned the ignition off.

I take it to the dealership , this was back on June 1st. They had it for a month could not get it to do the same but they did get an icp code and then they got no codes.Fast forward to this last Friday. I pick up the truck since they can't find a thing wrong with it and take it home. Yesterday I decide I will drive it to work and end up haveing to drive about 30 miles out of town. Keep in mind I live in the coutry so the road I'm on only has giant farms not much in the way of services. Well about half way down the road doin 67 she dies. I'm like no way. Call the dealer they send a tow. I did not even try to restart it because I wanted to make sure if it thre codes they would be there. Dealership hooked it upa nd by this time it would start. It had thrown codes for ICP/IPR and Turbo Boost and they saud the boost cood was due to tthe other codes. They called me last night and said they got it to shut down twice and believe it is the IPR or maybe even the HPOP but I'll know more today when they finish all of the testing.

So if you have not found your problem yet and it seems you have the same one as me I'll keep you posted, please do the same
