ether is trucks best friend
Hi guys, my 01 f-250 wont start unless its about 80 degrees without ether. i live in wyoming and have to use ether to start it everyday but i took it to washington a couple weeks ago and it started just fine. i didnt have to use ether once. any ideas on what may cause my new found problem. thank you.

I would find someone with a scanner that can read the injection pressure (ICP pres.) parameter. Sometimes blown injector O-rings will cause a long start because the pressure is bypassing the O-rings. Also you should check the glow plugs and relay. The valve cover gasket connectors can be used to check resistance on each glow plug. I don't remember which pins are which glow plugs but by checking these pins resistance with ground can show a bad glow plug. If they show infinite resistance they are bad. Hope this helps.
