Some thing that gets over looked, fuel pick up in the tank. The fuel these days has a tendancy to grow algae and likes to clog things up. Will run fine for a while then starts bucking and farting, let it sit and it will run great again for 30 plus or minus minutes, then the samething again. My thoughts. Not that hard to check....

i had that problem and i thought it was water in the fuel for so long. It quit on me going down the road and i had it towed. After a few hours went by it was fine for a while. A diesel mechanic that is a friend of mine told me that it was the pick up in the tank. He said if the screens arn't dirty it was the rubber hose that goes to the metal fuel line. He said that it gets a small crack or pin hole and it will suck air at 1/4 a tank of fuel or less. That when i realized evertime it has acted up on me it had a 1/4 tank of gas. So one day it quit and i poured 5 gals of diesel in it and it went away. So i would try that fuel pick up in the tank.
