Truck Died again yesterday
Yesterday on my way to work my truck started stuttering like she was out of fuel. And then she shut down on her own. I let her sit in a parking lot and got a ride to work. When I got off of work I put 5 Gallons of diesel in the tank and filled the fuel filter area, I turned the ignition on and off for the fuel pump about ten times. She started right up but was missing a step like an injector went bad.
My question is, how can I determine which injector it is and how to fix it. Of course I am no mechanic but I do know my way around a garage. I only have basic hand tools. Any help, like details instructions on how to find, fix, and repair would be appreciated. I can not afford to go to my mechanic as my wife was laid off of work last week. |

Pull codes, buzz the injectors and do a cylinder contribution test. Have you had the CPS recall performed?

I did the CPS in December of 2007. Should I buy a diagnostic tool to pull the codes and the cylinder contribution test?

Original Poster if you have a laptop order auto enginuity from ITPdiesel.com. It will do everything you need and is way cheaper than a scan tool |

You guys need to do a fuel pressure test. I had an F550 come in that was skipping and barely run. After I tried different injectors and checked the compression all that was wrong was the fuel pump had gone out.
