Help! Truck just up and died

Last week many of you know my 2002 F250 7.3 just died while driving. I assumed it was the cps and I replaced it with the spare I had. Today driving home from work it happened again. Truck just shut off as if you turned the key to off. No warning lights, no bucking or anything just dead! I think it would be unusual to have my 2nd cps go out only 3 days later and 15 miles on it.

If not the cps what do we know could cause this.

After the truck died it would not start. I unplugged my chip and it still would not restart. Fortunately I died only a block away so in about 2 hours I will go see if it starts once the engine cools off, not that it was hot but this is what I did when this happened last Friday only I let it cool so I would not burn the crap out of my arms putting in the new cps.

If it starts then I am really baffled....Help suggestions needed

Tach does not move when cranking

My guy at Ford said it was throwing some strange codes between the ICP, IPR, PCM and ECM. The electrical values were off so they think there may be a short. They could not get it to shut down so they they are keeping it overnight and will run some more test in the AM. Nice thing is, since I do a lot of business with them they aren't charging for all of the diagnostics. I'll let you know what I find out tomorrow.

Well, typically if the tach does not move, it's the cps. But if your ford guys on it, I'm sure he'll get her going for ya! Good luck bud.

thats pretty much exactly what i am getting. odd icp codes, and the truck never dies when im at my mechanics place. after i changed the oil, it hasnt seemed to die again. although when my truck was dieing, it was definatly hot. not unusually hot, but running at engine temp. my mechanic believes it might be the icp control module, but no one is for sure yet. ill keep posting as time passes.

Yep still in the shop and I think they have it nailed down to the ICP. They also had a hard time getting it to shut down but finally did today. he wants to keep till Monday to make sure. Well see what happens but I'll let you guys know.

Ok here are the 2 codes ford is getting. P1211 (ICP I think) and P1248 (boost) they think that one is wierd. They got the same codes with and without the chip. Wiring harness and IDM check out fine.
