1996 cps

I recently started researching replacing my cps on my 1996 f250 powerstroke, I looked to buy one from ebay but noticed that they stated those for sale were for vehicles from 97 to 03, after doing some more checking I found the part number changed after 96. does any one know if the ones for 97 will interchange and also are they located in the same area on the engine and do they change out somewhat similar to the 1997's Please inform me. thank you.

'96 cps

the pt # I found for the 96 was f6TZ-12K073-A The # on ebay for 97 to 03 was F7TZ- 12K073-A After calling a Ford dealership they said the F6TZ # for a 96 has been superseded by 4C4Z12K073AB so I still don't know if the 97 Part will work on the 96 can you tell me?
