HPOP Backing Plate O-ring?

Anybody know how to get the HPOP backing plate o-ring out? A friend of mine has the snap ring out and can see the o-ring but not sure if when he pulls the o-ring out if a bunch of parts are going to come with it. Here is a cutaway picture of the back of the HPOP and the o-ring he's replacing. Thanks for the help.

The swashplate springs and pistons will try to push everything out the back. Keep contant pressure toward the front of the pump to keep things from shifting and you should be able to pull the old o-ring out and replace it with the new one.

It may take more than 2 hands to accomplish all of that.
