dies when put in reverse

my brothers truck is a 01 f-350 psd and his truck dies as soon as he puts it in reverse it dont die when he puts it into drive. he has a dp chip on it. so i am wounderin if its the chip or a sensor???

it might be a fault in the chip did he try taking it out and see if it still stalled.....

it lugs down then dies...ill go over to his house and help him out. i think we will try pulling the chip out.

If it lugs down, the tranny isn't sending fluid to the TC properly. Basically it's supposed to have enough pressure to "declutch" @ low RPMs, gradually releasing pressure as RPMs increase to "engage" the TC...It could be a chip malfunction, might be a tranny issue.
