Battery light
My 01 had its battery light start coming on at idle. The charge guage looks great. Needle sits about 2/3rds on the 18 volt side of the guage Light goes out when the RPM gets over 1500. Been doing this for three days. Still starting and running fine. Is my alternator starting to go? It is original with 144K miles on it. Other ideas?

bad alternator. put a motorcraft one on it and be done.
