turbo went bye bye

well as the title says the turbo is shot.i was out driven and a kid in a 6.0 was blowin smoke and was in front of me so we went from a 55mph roll up to bout 95 or so he never pulled from me at all but once we let off i lost boost and started pournin out white smoke.pulled the intake off and have a ton of shaft play.now my question is i found a rebuild kit on ebay are they a alright rebuid kit to buy cause im kinda straped for cash right now till work picks up.im going to eventually upgrade to a bigger turbo.just wanted to know if anyone has bought one off of ebay before the guy seems to know what he is doin am im going to rebuild it myself.

you need to make sure the rebuild kit is for the SD turbos. The only one I saw on there is for the OBS turbos, and they arent the same.
