Glow plug circuit code

I was trying to chase down a miss. I wiggled the connector on the outside of the left side valve cover to check it for tightness. The next time I started the truck the MIL came on. The code is P0678, Cylinder 8 Glow Plug Circuit. Does this mean there is a problem in the wiring circuit, since it showed up immediately after I wiggled the connector, or is it just coincidence and the glow plug actually went bad when I checked the connector on the valve cover? Thanks for any help.

clear the code and see if it comes back
