7.3 turbo problems?
hi i am looking for help with my 2000 ford f250. when i am driving and im not deep into the pedal my turbo stops spooling. i can not get it to start spooling again until i get back into the pedal and then it hits all at once it will go from not spooling straight up to about 9-12 lbs. i have many assumptions of what this could be but i wanted to see if you guys could help me out before i tear into it. thanks for your help.

First assumption is a boost leak. Pop the hood and look all over for black soot, maybe on the firewall of up pipes. Could be the EBPV sensor or its stuck open. How many miles on it? Also check the uppipes. Try snugging up the IC boots too, and let us know where you stand.

i have 184000 miles on the truck im not really good with the turbo and everything involved with it. i can do most things with my truck but the turbo is like talking jibberish to me haha. i will check. i was thinking more injectors? reallllllly hoping thats not what it is.

the only noise i am noticing is it sounds like its resonating. like when your truck is cold and idling and the turbo starts spooling just a little bit and it makes that high pitched exhaust noise. it does that when my boost drops to zero.

How does it idle? Could be injectors can you run a buzz test or take it to a dealer who can? Does it run rough at lower rpms or just no boost, and does it smooth out at higher rpms?

Does that sound go away when at full operating temp? My guess is EBP sensor or the tube is plugged. Go check out Maintain's tech file in the forums on how to clean the tube!

gosh i wish one of you guys were from cincinnati or close i would pay for you to come help me haha so ill just throw that out there. i cant afford to take it to a dealer. the noise goes away as soon as my turbo starts spooling again. it honestly feels like the turbo is sticking and then when i give it enough throttle it spools but goes from not spooling to spooling like 9-10 lbs
