Help: Engine Knock w/ Greyish White Smoke

I have an early 99 its makin a knocking noise with a constant flow of white smoke with a really destinctive smell to it. Its not burning any oil i have heard so many different things would like to ge it narrowed down I was in cruise control when it happened the truck is running a bully dog power pup 4" straight pipe its also a 6 speed its not the turbo already had it off and checked.

Any help would be greatful b/c I am boggled.

Yes thats the only mods truck has 35" tires and 220000 miles

You need to do some diagnostics like check for codes, CC test, balance test, maybe even compression test. You said smoke smell was distinctive, is it fuel? I would assume so. Are you low on power? Does the engine have a miss to it?

Without this information, everything is just a guess.

Check fuel pressure also.

Also loss of power and sounds to have a slight miss! When cranking over it seems to hit then crank hit then crank but it will start up and when u first start it it wont knock or smoke then after about 30 sec or so it starts knockin and smokin! Its definately fuel
