Whining noise

Noticed he last couple of days truck has a "whining noise" and I approach 65+ mph.
I hauled a 16ft with hunting cart down to the lease this past Friday and the "whining noise" would actually fluctuate up and down. I dont seem to have any loss of power but I am not your average PS diesel driver. I baby this thing.
Am I trying to find things wrong with my truck ? It just sounds different from the motor area.

I just had a new alternater installed / front and rear diff fluid changed as well as basic oil change. Had new fuel filter put in also.

Is this "whining sound" a tell tale sign that the Turbo is about to die ?
