Runs like sh*t when cold....
So today it happened for the 3rd time. Started the truck, let it run for about 10 minutes to warm up, then took off. Then im not sure how to describe it, i guess best way is it stumbles, seems like its not running on all cylinders, kinda shakes a litte, and the SES light comes on. Stays like that for about 5-10 minutes, then all of the sudden it'll run completely normal, SES light goes off, and everything is fine from then on.
Anybody have any clue what this could be? Dont think i should let it keep happening. |

Scan for codes. Sounds like UVC harness connection coming loose to me.

Cam Sensor would be my vote also

those symptoms might also be caused by a bad IDM .............

Maybe could be the 5.6K mod? i notice that after running the 10k and tried taking it out my SES light came on and truck ran like A$$, order a new icp sensor should be in tomorrow so i can take the resistor out, truck wont run without it right now. So im out $180 because of it

i've got my 5.6k mod on a switch and havent actually had it on very much lately so dont think that has anything to do with it.
is it stored as a soft code then? guess i need to go have the code read but just dont feel like paying to have it done again. |

Hey Kyle this is exactly what I was telling you about the other day. Its not much work at all to pull the valve covers off and take a look. This is kind of a bigger problem on the 7.3s, Ford actually came out with a wedge to put under the clip to keep it from falling out. If you had a heat lazer, you could find which cylinders are not working, so you only had to take off one cover.
