Throttle not responding

When I turned my truck on this morning, it would turn over, but little to no throttle response. The truck would idle at about 800 rpm. When I pushed the throttle, it would go up to about 1100 max. It's been very cold here (about 6 deg. F). Could this be due to the cold (maybe the oil's too thick)? Or could this be something else. Would it be a good idea to plug the block heater in? Thanks for your help.

Did the throttle respond after the engine warmed up a little I bet it did. That is normal, it is part of the cold start on the truck. Yes it would be a good idea to plug it in when it is that cold out.

Thanks!

Yes, it did. It has never been this cold here before, so this never happened before. Thanks!
