7.3 ICP
Where is the best place to buy a new ICP? How much should it cost?

Either Ford or IH. I bought one recently from IH & it was about $135. I think if anything, Ford's will be more expensive.

Thanks for the help guys. Ford's retail was $175 and my jobber discount brought it down to $140 and IH was about $135, but I found one through a friend and customer who has a friend at a Ford dealer and picked it up for $125. Best price I could find. Wish they were in the aftermarket. But now I have a new problem. When I was checking all of the electrical connectors to see if any of them were loose I must have done something to the UVC plug on the one side because the first time I started the truck afterward it triggered a new code, "#8 glow plug circuit". Thanks again, John

Thanks again guys. The ICP is on its way. No I don't have the UVCH clips on the connectors. Are they a Ford part? I see them mentioned a lot, but I have never seen one. The interesting thing is that my connectors weren't loose at all. The factory clip is good and the connectors didn't move at all when I tried to wiggle them a little. I didn't disconnect them to look at the inside because it so hard to even get your hands on them.

RadarRider, Thanks for the info. I replaced the ICP yesterday afternoon. Had to go buy a 5/8" crowfoot wrench first to get the old one out. So far, after about 20 miles, it seemd to have fixed the problem. While on top of the engine yesterday, I also took a closer look at the left side UVCH plug. Turned out on closer examination that it does move even though the factory clip is in excellent condition having never been removed. Actually moved it around quite a bit. Deleted the "#8 glow plug circuit" code this morning and it hasn't come back on after about 8 to 10 starts. That is a good sign. It showed up the first time I started the truck after wiggling the plug the first time. I am heading to Ford shortly to check on the clips though. Thanks again, John
