Hard Starting 00 7.3 and eye burning exgaust
I got a 2000 7.3 that is getting harder and harder to start. I'm running power source fuel additive. Don't notice any better starts cold. Now when it's pluged in it starts fine in morning after sitting @ work 4 hours @ lunch it is not starting. I have to turn the key on and wait crank may sputter then I repeat this cycle until it fired off. I am also noticeing that the exguast fumes are really burning your eyes if your too close to the pipe. I haven't done anything to engine stock setup. I've got 190K on engine now maybe it's just time to take to dealer for a good tune-up. But if I can do something myself that is what I would perfer to do. Thanks
for any help. |

Sounds like something in the glowplug system. Either plugs, or relay, or both. Have they ever been changed?

Not that I know of. I'm reading on here this seems to be somewhat a a reocuring post. I my get new glow plus and relay. That will solve the starting issue hopefuly but what about the bad fume from tail pipe. Or can this all be related??? THanks
