I can't give you a technical answer on this, just one from a recent experience. I had a failing #8 for some time. I had recently replaced my CPS, & have given my truck a contrib test once a week for the past 3 weeks & it hasn't come back since.

I've read in a previous thread about a special 'long lead' injector for no.8 to correct a problem like that. I'm not very familiar about it though, maybee a tech will explain it.
