unable to complete buzz test?

I'm curious to see what would cause the unable to complete buzz test. it buzz's all cylinders then I get that.

Mine wouldnt complete it when I had a grey CPS in it. That might be it

Test for codes first. Depending on the scanner, I've seen units not want to run functional tests with pending "fix first" codes.


Also, I've seen bad IDM's do that, but look for codes first.

I've only seen that once. But it was contrib/balance that wouldn't run/complete.

Ran codes nothing. contribution gave me #3 fault just put in the black cps

Make sure the engine is hot before you run the contrib. Run the test a few times. If you keep getting the fault, pop the passenger side valve cover and check the harness on the 2nd cylinder from the front.

thanks guys I'll try that this weekend. will I need a new valve cover gasket

Unknown. On a superduty, I've found that the injector (solenoid) is bad or isn't clipped on for whatever reason causes more codes than a damaged UVC harness. It's something that you'll need to look at.
