99 f250 7.3l getting cold hard to start
i have a 1999 f250 powerstroke and my truck is getting hard to start . i 'm thinking its the glow plug relay. when i turn the truck on and the wait to start light comes on the two larger terminals on the relay should be hot for about 2 minites .. is this right or wrong ? thanks chris email me back at tnhotrod@aol.com

That is correct, the relay stays on for about 2 min. ( to help the engine run during warm up )

the glow plug relay will have a constant hot on one large terminal. The glow plug side terminal will activate for 15 seconds then stop then come on again for 10 seconds depending on ambiante temperture. if you have a glow plug problem that initial time will be reduced. this will create a hard start problem due to the fact of reduced glow plug temperatures. all see Huntin an idle thread above your thread for more on glow plugs.
