Lift Pump issue? 2nd opinions please.
Good morning folks.
My truck had a rough weekend!
I didn't beat on it much.
I lost an alternator on Saturday morning, and a starter, Saturday night!
resolved both of those issues.
application: 2001 (built in may) F250, 7.3 powerstroke automatic 4x4 crew cab short bed. only real upgrades are a BD exhaust brake, 4" exhaust, and rebuilt turbo w/ billet wheel
Driving to work this morning, I had to put my foot in it to get around some j@c%a$$ that wanted to pull in front of me.
so to the floor went my accelerator pedal.
she spooled up to aprox 3000 rpms, and then sputtered like she was out of fuel. I just filled up last night.
I took it easy on the rest of my drive with no issues.\
15 minutes later, I got back into my truck, and drove her away just fine.
I came to a stop sign , she spit and sputtered and eventually died.
I got her to fire up again, and she ran for a second and died.
I opened the hood to visually inspect battery connections, obvious fuel issues, with no findings.
she fired up again and ran like normal.
most obvious plan of action is another fuel filter, last replaced 3 months ago.
could this be the electric lift pump going out?
