Unhappy New Motor????

I just had my turbo replaced on my 01 F350, and I took my truck into the local ford dealer and they said I need a new motor. My truck was idling rough and smoking white smoke. They said the turbo I had just replaced was bad. only getting 11psi max boost. And they said the #6 and #8 cylinders were only getting about 120 psi. I dont know a whole lot about these motors, but I would think it could be fixed? He said with 161,000 on it it wasnt worth trying to fix. But I would rather try to fix it than spend $12,300 on a reman. The truck is in the shop now getting the turbo re-replaced under warranty. The guy wasn't much help but I would hope I would have some other options besides a whole new motor?

Where are you located?

With 161k miles that thing SHOULD be just getting broken in. Tell that idiot who told you that you'll be taking your business elsewhere.

That's what I hoped. I just bought it last year with 123k on it because I thought I would get 250+ out of it

Just because I'm not getting enough compression in 2 cylinders, I wouldn't think that would be the end for that motor?
