Thanks for the info. Are there any good mods that I should look into doing since we are going to have the truck in the shop anyways? Anyone's input would be helpful. I've been wanting to start upgrading my truck but with the recent problems I didn't want to put any money into it until it was running good.

Jon is right, Ford makes a very complete rebuild kit! Your engine should be completely rebuildable! AND there is no reason it can't be done for under about $2500.. I just removed my engine a few weeks ago for the same reason, low compression in one cylinder (#3).. I pulled it apart and this is what I found ![]()
