New CPS, New Fuel Filter, still problems
I've got a recurring issue with my 2001 F250. I bought it about 2 months ago. About a week later, it would start cutting out while I was driving. Only for a split second, then it would keep right on rolling. Engine never fully shuts down. I replaced the CPS, with an OEM Ford replacement.
About a week later, it started doing it again. This time, I noticed that the same 3 lights come on the dash each time. Wait to Start, Service Engine, and Water in Fuel. They do not come on, and stay on. They just flash on for a second, then gone. So I changed out the fuel filter, which did need it. That was 2 weeks ago. Today, it started doing the same dang thing again. Happened once, as soon as I left driveway, and motor was not to temp yet. Then a few miles later, happened again, at operating temp. After work, I drove to town for errands, and all was fine. Leaving store, at operating temperature, it did it again.
Truck is stock. No chips, or tuners, or mods like that.
Need some suggestions here. This is the first Diesel I've ever owned, and it looks like I need to learn a lot to keep it in shape.
